I’m joining the Disability March because right now, at five months pregnant with twins on top of my chronic illnesses, I don’t have the stamina (or bladder capacity!) for a long day of walking and standing outdoors. I appreciate that the Disability March is providing a virtual option for those of us who cannot attend a march in person. Collective action remains the best way to make our voices heard.
I have a PhD in cognitive neuroscience, and a suite of illnesses including migraines, major depressive disorder, Hashimoto’s disease, and dysautonomia. Thanks to good long-term treatment, I’m also a little more than halfway through a happy and healthy pregnancy.
