I had a motel room booked in DC for this week since I left the DNC in Philly last July. I started a new job in October that is very physically taxing. I developed plantar fasciitis because of the job and because of this can barely walk (currently recovering, and may be able to do a small march in my city on the 20th, at least I hope so). I tearfully canceled my room and all travel plans. I understand fully that mine is not an actual disability and is hopefully temporary, but this experience with wheel chairs and steroids has really opened my eyes. I have had a privilege of mobility and never realized it. I wish I were there to march with my brothers and sisters in the revolution. I hope to catch the next big protest. Thank you to all there fighting in DC.
I have worked for the Green Party for almost a year now. I was a Berner who DemExited, and went to Philly last July to try to wake the Democrats up and realize they needed a tougher candidate who could win against Trump. That is neither here nor there at this point, however. We all need to fight together against the tyranny and white racist fascism that is a Trump presidency. I can be found on Facebook at Facebook.com/allisongreenparty. I am currently focusing less on full-on politics and more on helping the poor and hungry in my local community in Louisville, KY. The lack of morals and humanity of this new administration has lit a fire under me and made me realize sometimes the most revolutionary act is to help your fellow man.
