I’m joining the disability march because I’m angry. I’m angry for the people who have been historically overlooked and marginalized- people who deserve to be heard. I’m angry for the people who are being let down by their country. I’m even angry for the poorly informed people who voted for the upcoming administration. I’m angry because without equality, society suffers as a whole. I’m angry, but I’m also proud. Proud of the people who refuse to stay quiet in the face of oppression, proud of the generations before me who fought so hard to get to this point, proud of the incredible support we can provide each other through love and understanding, and by rejecting isolation and the fear of the unknown. We will get through this together, and I’m proud to be part of that.
