I thought my days of protest ended years ago. I protested against the Viet Nam War and racial injustice. I protested for Voting Rights, among others. Today, I no longer have the physical stamina to protest against the direction our country is heading under the questionable leadership of Donald J. Trump.
We have a duty, as citizens of this democracy, to join our voices, hearts and energy for the common good of all Americans. I stand with my sisters and brothers who will gather on The National Mall on January 21 to hold our new national leadership accountable for fairness and justice for everyone, no exceptions. If we lose this sense of fairness and justice, we will have lost our soul.
