Why I Am Joining The March : As a former social worker, a wife of a doctor, and now a Chronic Illness Warrior and advocate, I cannot sit idly by and do nothing…even if I am on bedrest due to some of my 20+ chronic conditions. There are a myriad of reasons why Trump is not qualified to be president, but one of the most upsetting to me personally are his plans for healthcare, especially as they pertain to the chronically ill and to women. We live in a healthcare system that is designed for the acutely ill, not the chronically ill. And while the ACA may have had its flaws, it’s the best option we’ve ever had and gave us unprecedented coverage and protection. The plans to repeal it and coverage of many women’s healthcare needs are truly horrifying and unimaginable to me.
