Vividly colored (like heat-sensitive colors) photo of a woman wearing a shawl over her head.
I march metaphorically because the world I support is inclusive, kind, and moves forward on the progress we’ve made. I believe that everyone deserves an opportunity to grow and that society should nurture our gifts and talents. Disabled from Lyme disease, I am unable to participate in the streets due to the cold rainy weather predicted locally for the Women’s March.

My work as a conservation biologist has healed ecosystems and promoted connectivity of habitats. Our human systems also need healing and connectivity and I don’t see this in the policies and proposals of the Republican Party or in any part of the proposed administration of Donald Trump. I’m a second-wave feminist who raised a feminist daughter and do not want to see the achievements we’ve made be dismantled.

While I see everyone threatened by the election of a sexist bigot as POTUS (even those who voted for him), I am especially concerned for the most vulnerable members of our society: LGBTQ?, POCs, Latinx and all immigrants, Muslims, Jews, People with Disabilities, and women. I believe we must resist Trump’s policies and propaganda, each in the way that fits with our skills and gifts. I resist anything that harms nature, women’s autonomy/parity, and animal welfare/rights. Those are my areas of expertise and what I spotlight with my donations, writing, and other actions.
