I’m joining this March because I want very much to be present in Washington D.C. but am physically unable to do that kind of a trip now. I’m a disabled, lesbian, first generation Hungarian-American, and a former American Sign Language/English interpreter, and I know that many disabled people (possibly myself included) may die because of the changes in politics. I rely on Social Security Disability and other benefits in order to survive, but my goal is to become self sufficient and be able to live as freely as a nondisabled person. I became a Certified Professional Life Coach in 2010 and have been working on achieving this goal ever since. With the changes in government programs that may be coming, I really don’t know if I’ll be able to achieve this now. I’m fighting to keep my benefits and preserve my health with everything I’ve got, so that someday soon I will be able to let them go and help other people with disabilities and the LGBTQ communities to achieve their own goals.
I work with people in the LGBTQ communities and people living with chronic illness who want strategies for balancing abilities, expectations, and goals so they can create a joyful and fulfilling life. I am living with Ehlers Danlos Syndrome (a genetic connective tissue disorder), Fibromyalgia, and related issues. Anyone can live a purpose-filled and powerful life, given the right supports. I work closely with my clients and I support them in creating and then fulfilling their vision of a joyful life.
