I’m joining the disability march because for thirteen years I’ve been disabled—one of the Millions Missing–because of the illness ME/CFS. I’m joining the march because I fear the future for people with my illness, that the funding needed for studies leading to treatments and a cure for us will remain less than what Congress allots annually for male-patterned baldness. Because I fear the future for all people with disabilities, who have maybe had insurance for only a short time under the ACA as well as those who remain uninsured, and for all of us who fear losing coverage if the ACA is repealed for we indeed have pre-existing conditions. I’m joining the march because I believe that medical care is a human right, that people matter more than profits.
