Cindy Lawson

on

I was planning on marching in my city of Minneapolis, MN, but slipped on the ice Monday night and fractured my spine and broke a rib. I was discharged out of the hospital on 1/18, but marching now would be impossible and I am so sad to miss the act of resistance.

I am joining the march because I am afraid that women’s voices will be lost in this new administration. I am afraid for my brothers and sisters of color, for those who are poor or disenfranchised or who don’t identify with being white, heterosexual or christian. I am afraid of this man in power who is an admitted sexual predator, ignorant, misogynistic, xenophobic and evil. I want the world to know that I do not recognize this man as my president, nor do I support him.

I am a 55 year old mother of three, stepmother of three, grandmother of three, wife to an amazing and strongly feminist husband. I support the right of woman to choose, I support the LGBTQA communities and the communities of color. I am an environmentalist, a learner, full of energy and ready to resist this tide of ignorance, hate and greed.
Thank you for allowing me to march virtually, spiritually and mindfully!
