Dana has straight brown hair and wears a black shirt with silver buttons. She’s holding a baby dressed in pink; both are smiling.

I am a woman. I am a wife. I am a mother. I am a Christian. I am part of a biracial, bicultural family.  I am a special education teacher. I have a medical disability. I am all of these these things. But, most importantly, I am a human.  We are human. We exist as part of the human race. Political boundaries between countries,  separation of different familial statuses, understandings of gender identity, concepts of people with differing abilities, are human created. We are not these boundaries. We are not these divisions. We are not our socio economic status, job description, or our zip/country code. We are human. We deserve respect. We are a nation of immigrants- documented, undocumented;  of a rainbow of colors; a plethora of religions, visions and viewpoints; of men and of women.  We are diversity. We are human. We deserve to make our own choices and live our own lives.  We all deserve life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.  We will not stop. We will not be silent. I march for this – humanity.
