Why Am I Joining the Disability March?

I am angry a minority of Americans elected a dictator as POTUS despite his being a sexual predator, alleged pedophile, continual liar, racist, xenophobe, misogynist, Narcissist, and someone who makes fun of disabilities. I am angry to refer to Trump as groper elect, not as president elect as I would have grudgingly done to previously elected Republicans. I am angry the groper elect and the Republicans will deny Freedom of Speech and other Constitutional rights. I am angry they will destroy the economy, Obamacare, Medicare, Social Security, foreign relations, and Planned Parenthood. I am angry they will try to overturn Roe versus Wade. I am angry they will destroy this democracy. I fear for this country and the world. I write science fiction, but even I did not expect to be thrust into a Germany of the 1930s.

I am 64 and expect to live for many years. But here’s the question that haunts me: Will I die in the United States of America, or will I die in the Nazi States of America, an America of white supremacists, misogynists, and sexual predators?

I march—in a scooter—because I am angry and I must protest. Hillary would have been a fantastic POTUS, and I mourn her loss and the loss of our democracy.

Who Am I?

I am a writer. After 42 years of working for associations, companies, and corporations in journalism, marketing communications, and technical writing, I am waiting approval for Social Security disability due to relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis, fibromyalgia, Hashimoto’s disease, and other conditions. I now write middle grade science fiction novels for children aged 9-13 (www.dhtimpko.com). My home newsletter, Chez Timpko News, has received an APEX award for publication excellence each year for the last 4 years.
