I am a 76 year old woman who is a mother, grandmother and great grandmother to young women.  While I am very active, I can’t do that kind of walking anymore.  I am a retired reading specialist who has always believed in the power of women.

I am marching in honor of the women who have marched before. I am marching for my daughter, my granddaughters and my great granddaughter that they can live in a society where there is equality.   While women have made great inroads, we still live in a patriarchal society.  I don’t want to see the gains we have won lost under the new administration.  I also want to see a society where the 1% aren’t ruling.  If I was marching I would be wearing a pussy hat instead I will be at a meeting of women teachers who fight for the empowerment of women.
