I will not sit back in silence while a misogynistic, racist, sociopath gains power over our great country. I live with multiple conditions that prevent me from being able to physically be at the Women’s March, including lupus, pernicious anemia, complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS), and dysautonomia (disorder of the autonomic nervous system). However, I will be there in spirit—marching beside all you nasty women & men!
I’m personally offended by the President-elect’s hateful and condescending remarks toward women, disabled, and racial & sexual minorities. I will not stop fighting until ALL people of this country truly have equal opportunity, and ALL people of this country can feel safe in their communities.
Those of us with chronic illnesses and disabilities know first hand the value of the Affordable Care Act. I will be forever grateful for being able to get health insurance through the ACA. I had been denied insurance through every insurance company I called. I don’t know what my life would look like without having had Obamacare as an option. I’m infuriated at the prospect of the ACA being repealed, and the catastrophic consequences that would result for millions of Americans. The new administration has shown us that they don’t care about sick people.
I might be held back physically due to my disability, but I will not let my voice be silenced. Our country is better than the incoming administration. We must remain strong together, and work to ensure that the future of our country reflects justice, tolerance, and inclusiveness.
