If I were physically able I would most certainly be marching on Saturday! So many of my friends and community will be marching and I want to be with them!  In unity we rise!   I want my daughter to grow up being inspired by our leaders the way the Obamas and the like have inspired so many of us.  And if our leaders are not up to our standards, I want her to know that her voice can be heard in protest!  She should be able to look towards our political figures and at the very least, feel respected.

I am unable to march because of kidney failure.  A little over a year ago I lost kidney function while giving birth.  Now I am a proud single mama, dialysis dependent, and awaiting transplant.  Dialysis and the effects of kidney failure are doubly draining and cause great fatigue and muscle weakness.  There is no way in my current state that I could march, but I will be there in spirit, and now virtually thanks to this incredibly effort!  I thank you!  Here’s to fighting for our human rights and our dignity!

For about 20 years I have worked serving others as a teacher and/or therapist with varying individuals and families.  I received a Master’s in Drama Therapy from NYU in 2005.  I am currently 100% focused on raising my daughter, enjoying every moment with her, while I await transplant.
