Alison Johnson: Why I Am Joining The March : I’m joining the March to support all the people whose health and safety–both physical and mental–has been put at risk by the new administration.
Je nicer Stahk: Why I Am Joining The March : I’m overseas, and though there is a sister march an hour away, I can’t make it due to chronic health reasons. My body can’t take all the standing I the cold due to a nutritional disorder.
I am thinking of you all and with you in spirit. ❤
Connie Forgues: Why I Am Joining The March : I am joining the march because I believe this country deserves a president that is wise, caring and represents all of our people. I feel Trump will destroy our country.
Jennifer Stahl: Why I Am Joining The March : I have a chronic health condition that will not allow me to attend my sister March in Frankfurt am Main.
I am here for my sisters, who also have chronic illnesses and are unable to attend their sister marches due to mobility or other chronic health conditions.
I am here for my sons, and making a stand to continue upholding IDEA and other disability rights in the American school system.
Clare: Why I Am Joining The March : I have gay parents, a gay uncle, two bisexual friends, and a transgender friend. I’m fighting for them and the entire community. I’m fighting for the people at my school who are mexican or any race that isn’t white. I’m fighting for religious freedom and respect because not everyone is a terrorist. I’m fighting because the first time I got cat called was when I was twelve, because I was in heels. I’m fighting because the election gave a thumbs up for more racism, sexism, homophobia, xenophobia, ableism etc to happen. I’m fighting because my own brother supports trump even with a sister and gay parents. I have to go through the day hearing rape jokes and mental illness jokes at school, even from those who I’m closest to. I’m fighting because I suffer with mental illness. Being a human being, requires us to respect other human beings. And treat other people like human beings. All men created equal. Why are we still having to do movements like BLM? More importantly, why are people fighting against the idea that BLACK LIVES ALSO MATTER. Then the next day I go to school and I see dreads, henna tattoos, the n word being thrown around. I want people to make their own choices about THEIR body without being criticized. There shouldn’t have to be a room to go to at abortion clinics if people start shooting. And there shouldn’t be a fight against planned parenthood when only 3% of what they provide is abortions. People are fighting against cancer screenings, health lessons, and SDI tests. I’m against Trump and Pence, and what they stand for. I don’t support the promotion of what they stand for or them giving the “ok” sign to these things. I don’t want my pussy grabbed, no one is taking our jobs, gays don’t deserve to be electrocuted, disabled people should be respected and helped not mocked, anyone other than white shouldn’t be shot for no reason, not everyone is a terrorist ETC. I’m joining the march because simple logical ideas are still being fought against.
Anna Hubbard: Why I Am Joining The March : I am on disability … I have several conditions including osteoarthritis, fibromialgia, degenerative disc and a closed head injury. I am grateful for my Social Security which I paid into since I was 13. I am grateful for medicaid and medicare which enable me to have the care I need. I just moved up from a walker to a quad cane. I am afraid of loosing these benefits under the new administration. I am afraid for the generations that are coming after… I am afraid as a woman and being of Nishnawbe descent for my immediate safety and safety of my comunity. I am afraid for the stability of the nation and world… I am afraid for the continuation of life on this planet. Miigwetch – Thank you
Rachel Copeland: Why I Am Joining The March : I wish that I was physically able to march in DC, however due to my high risk pregnancy as well as the far location it’s not a possibility.
I am marching for my son, who has autism. He deserves a president who respects him as a person, regardless of his differences. I am marching for women and girls everywhere who will not be silenced. I am marching for people of all races, all cultures and all nationalities who deserve to feel safe. I am marching for love and against hate.
Ariana: Why I Am Joining The March : For the future of my daughter and the future of her daughters. Something needs to be done and I won’t sit down quietly allowing the injustice to continue!
Maggie Parent-Moyer: Why I Am Joining The March : I am joining this march because I want to stand up for myself and for other marginalized people, all of whom will suffer disproportionately under this illegitimate administration.
Melissa Harris: Why I Am Joining The March : Because we are all human, and deserve to be treated as such
Alana: Why I Am Joining The March : The terror and helplessness I have felt since this tragedy are making my health deteriorate much more quickly than before. I am scared for myself and all other marginalized people. This opportunity to speak out makes me feel a little more empowered.
