I am joining the disability march because we are marginalized, minimized, and overlooked, and we deserve to have a voice in our government. It seems like everyone I talk to either has a disability or loves someone who does, so I’m wondering if we truly are a minority. It’s also important for me to be part of the women’s march, especially living in Texas, where women’s rights and access to care are rapidly decreasing. Government depends on the consent of the governed, and more and more, I cannot consent to the laws being passed that oppress and punish Americans.

I have multiple auto-immune diseases as well as the depression and anxiety that often accompany them. I live and work near Austin, where I also volunteer and foster senior homeless dogs.
