In my youth, I marched. I rallied for the people whose rights were being taken away. Now, though my heart and soul march on, my feet can’t withstand the prolonged pressure. I join the disability walk in support of and as a representative of those citizens Trump has openly mocked and belittled. (Trump, stop lying. There is video proof.) Our POTUS, no matter what party, should embrace and embolden our differences. S/He should stand for those who can’t and protect those who seek help. S/He should be POTUS for the People, not the Corporation.
I was born with bilateral clubfoot and metatarsus varus. With the support of my family and friends, I rose above my disadvantage and became an actress, physical comedian, and non-profit development operations manager. When the time was right for me, I became a mom. Though now blessed to be wearing the ExoSym™ leg braces, I have limitations in the length of time I can stand and do physical activity. This will not stop me from continuing to live a full life and trying to help those who can’t help themselves.
