PhD student, chronically ill with multiple illnesses (some rare). Disabled. Cannot work full time. Medical bills with insurance => $750 per month. Despite good education, skills, and the desire to work, I will always be poor in this system. I will never have enough money to vacation with. I will never own my own home. I will never be able to save for retirement. I will never be able to financially support having children. I will never be free from financial difficulties. I am not the only one.
