I want to be there in solidarity with my fellow women, standing tall and making sure people see me as a force to be reckoned with. I am a female working in STEM in California and although we have made progress in women’s rights we have a long way to go. The current rhetoric about women’s health and the availability for resources is not going to cut it moving forward and I don’t think we should allow ourselves to be treated unjustly any longer. I live with a chronic immune deficiency that mostly affects women, called Lupus, and as an ally to the Lupus community as well as the many women who have inspired me over the years I am standing up for what I believe in. I believe we will need to stay vigilant and make our voices heard, with Trump in office, and with big changes afoot now is the time to stand up and stand tall and stand proud as one. I believe in equality for all, women, minorities, and LGBTQA+ members and want to make my voice heard to stand up for those who remain silenced and those of us unable to walk due to chronic pain and inflammation should not go voiceless due to our absence because we stand with our allies. We stand tall. We stand for justice and empathy and resources and education and change is going to come!
