I’ve been an RN for 38 years. In 1980 I was blood exposed to nonA-nonB hepatitis while working in a burn unit. Six months later I was positive. I have done well for years.  In 2010, I started not feeling well. In 2013 doctors put me on Interferon. I am in the end stage of liver disease. I’m 58 years old and on many meds. I can’t work, and I live on social security and medicare. I’m scared to death. Medicare or Social Security changes, and then what? I just die? After caring for others for 38 years? ERS burn and trauma patients. Wow.

Today Medicare refused me an orthotic for my broken foot, $434. I can’t have surgery to repair it because I’m not healthy enough for surgery. My meds are $300+ each month. It’s scary.
