I would have loved to march in Washington. I believe our government has a responsibility to protect and serve ALL of the people of this country. Our elected officials need to have integrity and a strong belief system in our Constitution and the rights of all people.
However, I have an autoimmune disease that prevents me from travel more than about 20 minutes from my home. In addition, I have severe sensitivities to chemicals – especially scented products and petrochemicals – which make staying in a hotel or anywhere outside my home impossible.
These pre-existing conditions which began immediately after a routine surgery 7 years ago have changed my life from an active and busy educator to housebound. It goes without saying that changes in health care could dramatically effect my life. Now, at age 65 (having worked and paid Social Security since I was 16) any cuts in Social Security would also be devastating.
Thank you for making it possible for me to “march”.
