Marianella

I am joining the disability march because I want to remind the world that people with invisible illnesses suffer every day the injustices of ignorant individuals. These include family, strangers and even the medical staff that question if we are making up our ailments.

These next four years will be hard for all of us. I feel empowered that my voice will be included.

I am 49 and a mother of 4 children. I am disabled by Sjogren’s Syndrome Disease, Fibromyalgia, anxiety, and major depressive disorder.

I am a college graduate and I love to sing. My children are my life.   After years of being ill, I was finally approved for disability benefits, yesterday January 19.

I hope to get into remission. If our government has their way, I may not live to see that day.I am more than my disability. My voice matters and so does yours!
