i am joining the disability march because i believe it’s impo
rtant to be visible. i am not able to participate in person due to both physical and psychological issues. to be blunt: i can’t walk very far (morbidly obese, lymphedema, arthritis, diabetes & diabetic neuropathy), nor can i tolerate noise or crowds (DID, PTSD).
i worry that the new administration hopes that people”like me” will just go away. without the affordable care act, i don’t know what will become of us and i’m scared. making a ruckus and being visible give me hope that i, and others like me, will not be forgotten.
biographical statement: born 1958 in baltimore. on extended sabbatical from creativity. i hope this will end soon.
