As a school Speech-Language Pathologist, I turned my passion for helping people with disabilities into a career by giving hundreds of my students and clients the ability to communicate with the people they love! To watch the students and families I represent be mocked disgusts me. To deny your actions is disgraceful. You should be ashamed. Where is your remorse?

I’m hurt. I’m angry. I’m embarrassed for our nation.

For years, families and people with disabilities have fought hard for equality and I’m afraid that all of the progress made will be neglected and may even regress.

Due to a broken foot, I am unable to attend this march as I had planned to do but my heart marches on with this brave group of people who are willing to show the world that our nation should not be run by someone unqualified and even worse, uncaring. What you said to our community Mr. Trump, was hurtful and it was even more disgusting to watch you deny your actions. We deserve an apology and it’s disgraceful that you haven’t made even the slightest attempt to do so.
