I am a 43 year old woman with a degenerative illness called Ehlers-Danlos. I am also a mother of a vibrant, smart, gorgeous, feminist four and a half year old.
I am profoundly disturbed by our President-elect. He represents character choices that I am unable to explain to (or even talk about in detail) with my daughter.
The election of Donald Trump flies in the face of the skills and values I teach everyday. In preschool my daughter is taught to be kind to others, share, not call others names, not to lie, and to not bully others (either in word or actions.) Our president-elect doesn’t have a a grasp on ANY of these skills.
In four years, my little girl will be old enough to understand some of the terrible things Donald Trump had done and said. I will March to show I am not “okay” with this behavior. I love my country but do not support a man who is at best woefully under-qualifed, at worst kiss actions are criminal.
May our country survive and thrive despite our president-elect.
I am a wife and mother (married to a remarkable man who supports me in everything I do and believe) and a card-carrying feminist and proudly raising another feminist little girl. We live in rural Maryland and often find ourselves surrounded by very conservative friends and neighbors.
