Michael Hawkins a.k.a Rain

Rain, in his home studio, resting his chin on his hand, resting his hand on a cane.

I am doing this because, quite frankly, I’m scared. And not only scared for myself as a multiply disabled trans man, but for basically everyone in my life and all around the country, (from sea to Fucking Shiny sea).

When I get scared, I need to fight the source, but I’m a brawler, not an activist. There’s nothing I can physically hit with this Thing. Joining this march in solidarity feels like a way to take a jab.
I am a stocker at a grocery store, an apprentice trim carpenter, musician, writer, and sometimes artist. I spend way too much of my time hiding my chronically painful severe scoliosis and trying to  turn my multiple invisible disabilities into art fuel.
