A country is not a business. Many of us cannot work enough to be financially self-reliant. So we receive help from friends, family, and other Americans through various programs, and we contribute to our society in all sorts of other ways. We don’t want to be told, “You’re fired!” Whether we can stand or not, we stand with everyone who faces discrimination, intimidation, violence, and neglect. We are here. We are not alone.
