I am marching because I believe the greatness of our nation should not be determined by our wealth. It should be determined by how well we treat our most vulnerable citizens. These days we treat them deplorably. We must do better.

I am a 64 year old disabled nurse , abandoned by my husband of 28 years after I became sick with mitochondrial myopathy + MELAS. 28 family members are also affected with this same disease.

It has been a mighty struggle just to stay alive and pay for my medical care and medication. Many with my disease face this same fight each day.

With the repeal of the ACA many of us will die. My life counts. I worked hard all my life helping others. This is what I get. Where is the love and compassion? When a society loves money far more than people it’s broken. Ours is.
