Equal safety, opportunity, and “pursuit of happiness” belong to all citizens of a democracy. It should belong to all people everywhere as inherent human rights. Along with: Healthcare. Respect. Autonomy.
Whether our personal opinions and beliefs are the same, these rights should be our common ground.
I’m marching virtually in solidarity with the Women’s March on Washington 1.21.17—for these rights for ALL individuals—ALL. As a woman. As a woman living with Type 1 Diabetes for 30 years. As a woman that suffered as long with undiagnosed, because under-researched, women’s health catastrophes called Endometriosis and Uterine Fibroid. For my younger sister, Sara, a woman, who lived with Cerebral Palsy on the fringe of society until her death at age 30. For the future of Compassion that I believe is possible in this country. For Change. For Love.
