Because I can’t sit back and pretend that this is a normal inauguration. Because, once again, a qualified, sharp woman was passed over for an inappropriate and unqualified male candidate. Because our worth can’t be measured on a scale of one to ten. Because the work of my predecessors is too important to be written over. Because everyone deserves respect. Because I’m tired, and I’d like to still hope.

I’d planned on attending the Women’s March in person, but my spine was broken in a car accident over New Years. The care that I received (thanks, Obama!) means I’m here to march digitally, because above everything else, I believe every American deserves to feel secure and supported.
