I planned until this evening to join the sister march in Oakland tomorrow, even though I have serious balance and mobility issues due to arthritis, and use a walker to get around.

I have just been talking with a neighbor who is going, who managed to make me see the light. It’s just not realistic to think I can still do this.

I marched for civil rights and for women’s rights and against the Vietnam war. It breaks my heart that after all this time, here we are back again.

Tomorrow, I will light a candle and keep you all in my heart.
