I am marching in the disability march to bring awareness to those suffering from ME, myalgic encephalomyelitis. Research funding for ME is woefully insufficient given the numbers of people affected and the degree of disability. I came down with ME after being ill with a virus and within months could no longer work as a research scientist. I also cannot walk more than a few blocks, kayak, read books, go to the cinema or most of the activities that I enjoyed. People with ME are the missing millions because we basically disappeared from our lives. Give us hope, fund ME research now!
