I stand for my transgender wife and my kids, for my students and co-teachers, for my LBGT Community, for the disadvantaged and the disabled. For those who can not literally stand, I will stand for you with my aching feet and sore body. With my mind clear, I see you. I see us. I imagine a world where everyone has the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.
I am a fibromyalgia suffering middle aged woman who has fought the last 7 years since my diagnosis to be fairly represented with my “invisible” disability in my work and for my health care. I look to us all in this extraordinary time, to be present and accountable. To stand up and be here now. This disability march helps me to feel like I CAN be here now.
