I march because I want my daughters to know that what they are seeing from the people of this country is not okay. That bigotry of any kind is reprehensible. That I want them to have a world where people lift each other up instead of stepping on each other. That funding education is the most important investment in the future. That their gender and their disability (ASD) should never limit them. That compassion, kindness, respect, and basic decency toward all human beings is something to stand up and fight for.

Because of our autism (I’m also on spectrum), coping with the crowds and feverish environment of a live march will be too much for us. But our hearts and hopes are with the marchers. Together we can let those who are feeling voiceless that we are here to help them be heard, and that we will not be silenced.
