I’m joining this group because I believe Trump is mentally unfit to serve as our President. He has displayed this on numerous occasions. Human rights, not just women’s right are going to be violated on so many levels. I would also like to say I have a friend who would love to be a part of this but she is too poor to own a computer. She will also be negatively effected by the Trump administration. It’s important we ALL stand together and collectively fight for our rights.
I’m 58 years old and currently reside in Portland Oregon. Prior to my disabilities I was always a hands on activist for many human rights organizations, while working full time in the advertising business. I started my activism work when I was 16 years old in high school. Our sports teams were called The Indians and our school paper was called The Tomahawk. I felt this was extremely derogatory to Native Americans and so I started a movement to get this changed. I’m happy to say that I was successful, after I graduated and the name was changed to The Warriors.
I have 3 disabilities. I have bipolar disorder, Pulmonary Hypertension, and a rare autoimmune disorder called Scleroderma. For years I was able to do volunteer work for NAMI, The Nationals Alliance on Mental Illness, and another organization called DBSA, Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance. I facilitated a weekly support group for over 7 years until I could no longer physically or mentally do it.
I’m currently on disability and thank you for giving me this opportunity to share my thoughts regarding this important issue.
