I am deeply concerned for the health and safety of everyone in this country, indeed, this world, who is not rich, white, upper class, Christian, straight, cis, born American, able-bodied, and male. The more of those things one is not, the more worried I am. This is the time for resistance to power, using whatever means we have, whether that is our bodies, our voices, our creativity, our talent, our prayers, our money.
I believe that God calls us to love one another without regard to race, creed, gender identity, orientation, ability, country, ethnicity, or any other such divider, and that bias on any of those lines is a sin which almost all of us carry in our hearts. I believe that it is our God-given duty to fight those sins in our own hearts, in others, and especially in our societies and systems.
I am a white woman and a Christian, privileged in many ways. I am a semi-retired tax accountant. I am partially deaf, and also have physical injuries preventing me from marching. I will be with all of you in my heart.
