I’m joining this march for my mother, Pat Harner, who passed away just before the holidays. Although I cannot physically march, she instilled in me a sense of civic duty. She opened the first pregnancy clinic at Planned Parenthood of Philadelphia. She took me to the NOW March for Women’s Lives in April, 1989 (pictured). She devoted time and energy all her life to incredible causes like nuclear non-proliferation and youth violence prevention. She was a tough act to follow. ♥
