I am marching because I believe in every person being able to lead a life that they choose. I believe in everyone having enough food to eat, adequate housing, and access to the health care that they need to live. I believe that every human being deserves dignity and bodily autonomy. I believe in helping each other.
The world that I, and others like me, have worked to create (imperfectly, but gradually) is being torn apart abruptly, callously, and gleefully. We should not be surprised, because this is what they promised. But we need to fight. This is not right, this is not normal, and this IS HAPPENING. I am sad and frightened, but also enraged. And that is a powerful thing indeed.
My name is Tina Lynn, and I live with my wife Wolf and our three beloved dogs in a sunny little house (that needs major repairs) near the shores of Lake Michigan. Both my wife and I face serious medical challenges, and I am on disability because it’s no longer possible for me to work. I do my best to manage my health, but I need a handful of doctors and a double handful of medications to assist me.
My wife and I have been together for 30 years, and I still adore her. We were finally married in February of 2016, and my wedding and honeymoon at Disney World were probably the best days of my life.
Thanks for giving me this opportunity to march/protest/express my disgust, even though I cannot physically attend a march. It means a lot to me.
