Carina Nicole

I have always been passionate about social justice, but my disability makes it near impossible to enter large public spheres without immense fear entering me. Disability rights are so important to me, and I worry that we will be silenced for these next four years. I am a queer college student working two jobs, and I do not let my disability define me. I want to show other young people that you don’t need to be afraid to fight for what you believe in.

I attend Chatham University, majoring in nonfiction and minoring in gender studies. I am currently writing a memoir about the intersectional female experience and currently interviewing people both in person and virtually for this project. I can be contacted at carina.stopenski@chatham.edu.
