With chronic daily migraines, it is hard to leave the house, much less the state, especially with a child. Losing ACA is likely a death sentence for me, since the pre-existing condition clause is back and I can’t afford the treatments out of pocket. I’m marching to make my voice heard, even though I’m silenced by pain. Women, minorities, people with disabilities, everyone not rich, white, and male, have valid American voices that should be heard and honored by their elected representatives. No one should be so arrogant as to believe their health insurance is safe if it is via an employer- removing ACA means everyone is 1 moment from uninsured (the moment being when you are let go from your employment). Even my 8 year old knows “that is a bad idea”. I’m here to show elected adults what a child can see.
Bio: 41 year old divorced white female mother of 1, cis, working full time in pharmaceutical development at a small company that doesn’t have health insurance. Chronic daily migraine for over 20 years, severe enough that I’ve had 2 surgeries to try to reduce them, with little success.
