As a feminist and a rape survivor, I can’t just sit by while a man like Trump takes office. He is symbolic of everything I’ve feared in life. I’m saddened by my relatives that know I’m gay and yet support him. I’m ashamed when as a disabled person, I see them defend him for mocking a disabled reported.

I wish I could march. Most days, I’m not even healthy enough to leave my house. But I fought for my country years ago, got hurt for my country. So to this monster proclaimed Commander in Chief makes my skin crawl. Hate crimes broke out in my neighborhood after he was elected. I double check my locks and look over my shoulder more. It’s a scary time to be different.
