In my 20’s I got cancer. My wife had insurance through her work. For all of my career, I had to hide my victory over cancer to get hired and my wife had to continue working to get us medical insurance since my prior conditions were relevant. Now in retirement, I have myasthenia gravis, prostate cancer, and back problems. If insurance maximums were legal, I would be in financial trouble. The ACA is about much more than the newly insured. Those with Medicare, Medicaid, AND employer or private insurance will be negatively impacted by repeal.
After college and an MBA, I worked as a consultant, for several large companies, as president of several non-profits, and as a tour guide taking Americans overseas (my most fun job).
