I’m an American with disabilities and the parent of six children, several of whom have significant disabilities. I wouldn’t have been marching in the main march on Saturday because I’m an observant Jewish, but even if the march had been held on another day of the week my psychiatric conditions would have prevented me from participating. As a Jewish woman with disabilities and the mother of children who have their own disabilities, I fear for our personal safety and civil rights on multiple levels in the new America of the incoming administration. Our access to medical care, FAPE, and personal safety and security are all directly threatened and I’m grateful for this opportunity to speak out and stand up.
