If I could be there in person, I would. Because I will hold this government accountable for what it’s doing to the most vulnerable amongst us. Because I am so proud of the resistors, and my sisters, and those who will fight for what is right and decent. Because ignorance, hatred, and prejudice (in all it’s many forms) do not represent our country, our citizens, or the “greatness” we all need to work toward. My existence is resistance enough, but I’m not settling for that. I’m not settling for a government that actively dismantles the support system that so many in our country need to survive – whether it be financially, educationally, or related to civil rights or health care. We’re not going backward, no matter what.
I battle multiple chronic illnesses and disability, so I’m low on energy & the time I’d like for activism, but I’m also raising kids who need to know that certain fights are worth fighting, even when they have a personal cost. This is one of them. Find me at: https://twitter.com/NeverThatEasy
