I was diagnosed with Stage 4 breast cancer in November 2016. Stage 4 is ultimately terminal, but there are treatments available that will hopefully allow me to spend more time with my family. My son is three years old and he needs his mom. I am terrified about how the changes in insurance policy will impact my treatments, especially regarding pre-existing conditions and lifetime caps. My treatments cost hundreds of thousands of dollars a year, if not more. I am literally fighting for my life and the last thing I need to worry about is whether my family can afford to keep me alive.
I am 35 years old and married with a three year old son. I work in environmental consulting, although I am currently out on disability.
