I’m McKenna, a 22 year old graduate student. I have a bachelor’s degree in music focusing on vocal performance in opera and musical theatre. I teach music, dance, and acting at a youth theatre center and work as an archivist and secretary at a local law firm.
I had every intention of driving to New Orleans to participate in the match this afternoon, but my body had other plans. Today’s culprits – PCOS and endometriosis who decided to throw punches to the point where I can’t move but to take pain medication. These two diseases have drastic and painful effects women everywhere, but are often left undiagnosed because women don’t have access to doctors and/or medical care. I march today for women’s health, for access to diagnostic and preventative medicine for women, in solidarity with planned parenthood and all centers for women’s health.
