I am Marching because the rights of *all* citizens need to be equal. Regardless of race, ability, gender, sexual preference, age, or religion. Women’s rights are human rights and we deserve to be treated equally, and live without fear. I rely on disability and Medicare to survive. We need to ensure that not only equality stands for all, but the resources we need aren’t taken from us.
I am a disabled bisexual woman, and a rape survivor. I am afraid to go out alone, because I not only have to fear being a woman alone, but as a disabled person, I feel like I am an even larger target. Especially now. I used to be so independent, but not now. Even on a good day, where I can use my walker, rather than my wheelchair, I am afraid to. I shouldn’t have to be.
