Photo montage of an emergency breathing treatment. Pictured: asthma nebulizer, curly brown haired woman using nebulizer, screen shot of cat in the hat quote (because I hate having to sit still – i was born to move). Quote reads: “So all we could do was to Sit! Sit! Sit! Sit! And we did not like it. Not one bit.”
Why I’m joining disability march: I am joining this march to stand with millions of Americans as we fight to maintain and expand on the progress we’ve made over the past 8 years. I join my fellow Americans to stay America is already great!
About me: Born and raised in Chicago. Spent time as a science and social studies teacher in the Chicago Public Schools, teaching in Englewood and Little Village. I worked hard and enjoyed teaching until my asthma became disabling and I had to resign from my dream job. Hoping to get healthy enough to teach again. In the meantime, I’m trying to navigate the system that does not allow for (CPS) teachers to be eligible for disability and trying to figure out how to maintain health insurance to afford the thousands of dollars worth of life saving medicines and medical care I need monthly.
