I march because I refuse to be cynical.
I march because I believe in the power of everyday citizens committing themselves to progress while we have a president who cannot be a role model for our children.
I march for equal pay for equal work, for birth control, and the right to make decisions about my own uterus.
I march because Black Lives Matter.
I march for my students who are as beautiful, courageous, and diverse as the earth is round and who deserve opportunities to succeed no matter their race, religion, or socioeconomic status.
I march for climate justice and the conservation of wild spaces and an inhabitable earth for future generations.
I march for you, and me, and everyone in between.
