I’m marching for spaces free of the fragrances and other toxic environmental chemicals that keep me in exile from the human community; I’m marching for the inherent worth and dignity of every person; I’m marching for the free and responsible search for truth and meaning; I’m marching for respect for the interdependent web of all existence of which we are a part; I’m marching for MEDICARE FOR ALL!
I am a 66-year-old native Detroiter, disabled by multiple chemical sensitivities (MCS) and chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS). Before I became ill, I completed coursework for two Ph.D. programs, one in cell and molecular biology, and the other in a self-designed interdisciplinary program combining biology, philosophy, and education. I taught and developed college-level courses in both biological sciences and interdisciplinary studies. When I was no longer able to teach, I began working from home, doing freelance graphic design and image consulting for local start-ups, non-profits, and community organizations.
